Who Do You Say I Am?

We all come to those moments in life when we wonder who we are.  The reflection in the mirror is not the same we saw 5, 10, 20 years ago.

Often, we don't like what we see and then the next day we do.
Our view of our self changes like the seasons.

Self esteem, whether low or high, can control our lives - causing us to step out into new adventures and relationships (friends and professional) or causing us to retreat and become recluse. It can be easier to stay home, not be on social media, and remove our self from anything that causes stress.

What if there was a better way?

Can we get off of the self esteem roller coaster? Is it possible to live a life of balance?

Living our life knowing who we are in Christ is the only way to have balance and security.  Putting our self esteem in the hands of anyone is one of the causes of a roller coaster emotional life.  Knowing who we are in Christ and who He sees us as is the most important thing.

Matthew 16:5 Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”[1]

Jesus asked the disciples who they thought He was. They had spent years with Him traveling the country. People had been healed of sickness and disease while others were raised from the dead.

God knows who you are and who He created you to be. His opinion is the only one that matters.
Who does God want you to be? Who has God made you to be? How does God see you?

Say, "God, who do You say I am?"

Pray, read the word, and listen. He loves you, believes in you...

and has good plans for you, a future and a hope.
